St. Paul’s 7th Annual Cooks and Books gathering will kick off Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Farmers Market Pavilion, Market Square, St. Paul, VA.
St. Paul’s hometown eateries have participated in this Southwest Virginia tradition for 7 years. At this signature event local eateries, craft beer brewery and winery will come together in one location to provide samplings of their most popular dishes, while local chefs compete in the “Best Burger Cook-Off” competition. This event hosts a triple threat of fun: great food, friendly competition, and an opportunity to meet and greet your favorite local authors.
Giovanni’s Pizzeria, located in St. Paul, serves pizza and sandwiches in a family friendly atmosphere complete with nostalgic arcade games!
St. Paul’s Clinch River Farmers Market members will be cooking up their delicious tomato pie and a few other items out of their own Farmers Market Cookbook, which they will have available for purchase!
Sugar Hill Brewing Co., Heart of Appalachia’s Original and Best Brewpub located at 16622 Broad St. St. Paul, will not only be offering a sampling of their popular dishes and beer, but will serve the winning burger of the Best Burger Cook-Off for 1 week after the Cooks and Books event!
Milton’s located inside the Western Front Hotel at 3025 4th Ave St. Paul, brought chef Travis Milton back to his culinary roots. Experience a taste of how good farm to table Appalachian Cuisine can really be!
Dew Drop N located at 1645 Johnny Ramey Drive St. Paul, is one of St. Paul’s new businesses, opening just this year. A family owned diner serving up a plateful of good ole American cuisine from hamburgers to homemade jams!

Appalachian Meats located in Lebanon, VA can often be found at the Clinch River Farmers Market on Saturday. Meats are locally grown and processed at nearby Gent Farms in Lebanon.

Food City, our local hometown grocery store has been a supporter of Cooks and Books for years and will be onsite participating again this year.
