The annual Cooks and Books gathering takes place July 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion in St. Paul, Va.
The event showcases local and regional food dishes, wines, and beers, as well as eight local and regional authors. Proceeds from Cooks and Books support J. Fred Matthews Memorial Library and The Lyric Project.
Food and drink will be available from the following participants: Sugar Hill Brewing Co., Milton's Restaurant, Food City Deli, C&S Catering, Donut Connection, Darla Merkins (executive chef for Carilion Clinic), Farmers Market Cookbook samples and Mountain Rose Vineyard.
A silent auction will also take place.
Tickets cost $20.00 in advance or $25.00 the day of the event. The ticket price includes admission and tastings. Tickets may be purchased at C.R. Sugar Hill Brewing Company LLC opened in 2016. Owned by Greg and Jennifer Bailey, the brewery is located at 16622 Broad Street in St. Paul.
